▸ Why We Built BandPass
We worked every side of live music.
None of them got fair math.
Production. Booking. Venue ops. Artist management. Tour logistics. We've spent years on each side of the table — and every angle had the same problem: a 28+% markup that nobody benefited from except the platforms holding the money.
▸ Four Sides, One Problem
Same broken math, viewed from every angle.
We didn't come up with the BandPass thesis sitting in a conference room. We came up with it after years of watching the same extraction happen from every position in the industry.
Production
Setting up the rig, running sound, paying crews. Watching show settlements get held while we floated payroll for security, sound engineers, and stagehands.
Booking
Negotiating deals with venues and agents. Watching 28% of every ticket disappear to a platform that contributed nothing to the show itself.
Venue
Trying to keep the doors open on a 70% takehome. Knowing that one bad night could cost a month's rent because settlements were 30 days out.
Artist
Standing on stage knowing fans paid $40 for tickets you saw $9 of after the platform, agent, manager, and venue split it. Waiting weeks for the wire.
▸ So We Built It
A ticketing platform built by music people. Not by tech bros who think live music is "an interesting vertical."
We started with a single question: what would ticketing look like if we built it for the people who actually make shows happen — the venues, the artists, the crews, and the fans? Not for shareholders. Not for ad networks. Not for the platforms holding the money.
The answer turned out to be simple: charge a fair fee, pay people on time, stop enabling scalpers, and give fans their data back. That's BandPass.
▸ What We Built
The mechanics. Everyone wins, except the markup.
No booking fees. No surprises.
Replaces the 25-30% in fees typical of legacy ticketing checkouts. The savings split between fans (lower price) and venues / artists (more revenue from the same willingness-to-pay).
Same-night payouts.
Funds sit in Stripe escrow from purchase to showtime. The moment doors close, the money releases — bank or instant debit today, with more rails on the way. Zero hold. Artists get paid before they load out.
Face-value resale.
Can't make the show? List it back to the platform at face value. When it sells, you get BandPass credit for it — the list price minus our resale fee. Scalpers can't profit. Fans get tickets at what they're worth.
Fan data, fan-owned.
Your data, your call. Opt in and the perks are yours — presales, lower fees, first dibs on drops, and a say in which shows come to your city. We never sell your name to anyone; we just connect the people who want to reach you, on your terms. Opt out anytime — your tickets never change.
Merch without the headache.
Upload your art and it becomes real product — we print, pack, ship, and handle support, with nothing out of your pocket and no boxes in your closet. It shows up on your show page and in the ticket checkout, so fans can add a shirt to the same order as their ticket. Planning a bigger drop, or want a designer in your corner? We'll set that up too.
Tools, not tracking.
Fans opt in and stay in control; you get a real toolkit in return. Reach and segment your own fans, see where your audience actually is before you route a tour, and know who's in the room before doors open. Everyone works from the same honest numbers — real attendance, real fans, no inflated reach.
▸ Why We're Here
Rebuilding live music the right way.
The live music business has been built to work for everyone except the people who make it worth showing up for. We're rebuilding it the right way: fair fees, fast pay, data that belongs to the people it's about, and tools that help artists and venues actually make a living — not platforms that profit off every dollar they earn. Better for fans, better for artists, better for the people who actually make the night happen.
We offer all of this to any artist who wants it — whether there's no label or team behind you, or there is and you'd just rather run your own designs and handle your own merch your way. Ticketing, merch, payouts, and fan tools in one place, at a price that works at any size. It scales both directions: a first local show or a sold-out tour runs on the same system, so independent and established artists get the same advantage.
▸ What We Believe
Live music has been broken for too long. Tickets cost too much, payouts come too late, fans get treated like wallets, and the people doing the actual work — artists, crews, venues — get the smallest slice.
BandPass is built on the bet that you can run a fair ticketing platform with a small, transparent fee, same-night payouts, and zero scalper enabling — and that you start by not charging anyone at all while you earn trust. We've done the math. It works. The 28% legacy markup is gone.
This is the platform we wish existed when we were on the other side of the merch table.
